This rafting trip is one of the most popular amongst river rafting enthusiasts and must‐ do on your list. Begin your journey by acclimatizing for a few days at Leh town, where you can also visit ancient palaces and monasteries. Spend the first two days enjoying the moderate white water while you enjoy the beautiful scenery and natural surroundings. Zanskar offers spectacular physical features, unlike anything you have seen in all of India or the world. At the end of the Zanskar valley, get ready for the spectacular Zanskar Canyon, also referred to as the Grand Canyon of Asia. The walls of the Canyon go up thousands of feet off the river bed. The Zanskar Canyon is a grade 4 rapid and offers amazing whitewater for rafting and kayaking.

You will also discover the rich culture and history of the natives as we make our way down the Zanskar gorge, and take back memories that will keep you thrilled for a long time to come.

Day 1: Fly to Leh
Acclimatize at an altitude of 3,500 m in the city of Leh. The beautiful city, bustling with Ladakhi culture is filled with monasteries, prayer flags and museums. Visit the famous Thiksey monastery, Shanti Stupa and Stok Palace. Stay in Hotel.

Day 2: Leh to Kargil (9 hrs drive)
Whole day drive from Leh to Kargil. Stop for lunch at the beautiful moon landscape of
Lamayuru. The route passes through Fotu La pass at 14,000 ft. Overnight in Kargil.

Day 3: Kargil to Rangdum
Whole day drive to Rangdum. Expect some of the most gorgeous scenery in the Himalayan mountains with Nun‐Kun mountains and other glacial peaks. Camping overnight in Rangdum.

Day 4: Rangdum to Remala
Last day of driving before getting to the river. The route passes through Pensi La Pass and enters the magnificent Zanskar Valley with 6,000 m peaks all around the region. Catch a view of the original glacier Darang Durung on the way. Camp overnight in Remala alongside the river Doda, a tributary of Zanskar.

Day 5: Remala to Karsha
First day rafting on the river. Short briefing on all the safety guidelines and then a few hours of grade‐2 rafting between the mountains. Arrive in Karsha in the afternoon for lunch and overnight stay. Visit the famous Karsha monastery and a take a stroll in the small village of Karsha.

Day 6: Karsha to Zangla
Another day of soft rafting on grade‐3 section. The river flows through the beautiful valley laced with multi‐coloured mountains all around. Reach Zangla around afternoon for lunch and overnight camping. Visit the small village of Zangla with lots of monasteries and culture.

Day 7: Zangla to Nyerak
Early start of the trip and then we enter the grand canyon of Zanskar. Expect some grade 4‐ rafting filled with lots of rapids and lots of adventure. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the gorge before we have lunch on the river. After 5 hours of rafting we reach Nyerak village for overnight stay. This is the most famous camping site in the entire gorge. Rest in the camp or visit the small village

Day 8: Nyerak to Chilling
Another adrenaline pumping day on grade‐4 section. Expect a lot of grade‐3 and 4 rapids and continuous whitewater. The river gets narrower until it enters a steep 18 ft wide gap called

the Gate Rapid. Lunch at a beautiful waterfalls on the route and then the valley passes through spectacularly coloured mountain formations all around. Overnight camp in Chilling.

Day 9: Chilling to Nemo
This is your last day on the river. Another classic whitewater day with continuous grade‐3 and
4 long rapids. Enjoy the beauty of the Zanskar river until we reach the confluence with the
Indus river. Final camping in Nemo.

Day 10: Fly out
